OUR STORY
115 Years of American Craft
From Berne, Indiana to design studios worldwide — the DUNBAR legacy continues.
Founded in 1910 in Berne, Indiana, DUNBAR established itself as one of America's premier furniture makers. Under the design direction of Edward Wormley from 1931 to 1968, DUNBAR became synonymous with sophisticated American modernism — pieces that balanced European design influences with distinctly American craftsmanship.
Today, DUNBAR continues that tradition. Our workshop in the American heartland still produces furniture with the same commitment to quality that defined the company over a century ago. Every joint, every finish, every detail reflects generations of accumulated knowledge.
DIRECT by DUNBAR extends this heritage to a new generation of design professionals — offering not just access to our collections, but a true partnership built on shared values of craft, quality, and enduring design.
